Protestors who came to a city centre in a bid to "protect" the Cenotaph have been accused of urinating against a church wall.
Hundreds of people, including football fans, war veterans and bikers, gathered around the war memorial in Bristol on Saturday with banners reading “All Lives Matter” and “We are NOT FAR RIGHT”.
The group claimed to be protecting the Cenotaph from vandalism, although there has been no threat of damage to the Cenotaph, Bristol Live reports.
One man was spotted standing atop Edward Colston's plinth with his arm aloft and dangling a Union Jack flag while two people were arrested for public order offences.
