The Argentine has been closely linked with St James’ Park, with a £300m takeover by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund getting close.
He has been out of a job since November last year when he was sacked at Tottenham. But Portuguese outlet Record have reported that he is willing to stay out of a work a little longer, which could open the way to St James’ Park.
Pochettino was offered a chance to take the top job at Benfica but has rejected it. The manager is aiming for a job in one of the top five leagues – as well as a cab with the opportunity to win big trophies.Pochettino was unable to guide Spurs to title.
