THE Masked Singer star Aled Jones has shared backstage secrets including how they protected his identity beneath his Traffic Cone costume.

Lifting the lid on 2022’s most talked about TV show, singer and TV presenter Aled, 51, said bosses were super strict on security.

Speaking after his exit on Saturday night, Aled told The Sun he barely saw or spoke to anyone directly involved in the production.

He said: "Basically, you turn up with your balaclava and visor on and gloves and hoodie and you don't see anybody for the whole day except your vocal coach, who I loved working with. "You don't see anyone (backstage) everyone has their separate dressing room, everyone has a separate dressing area as well. "So the only time I ever saw any of the other creatures was when we did the group song and that was for a very short time." He added about his 7ft tall Traffic Cone costume: "I loved the big shoes, they are basically massive shoes that are moulded around crocs. "The tricky thing was you couldn't really see your feet so it was very difficult to see where you were walking. "You can't really see that much at all, which was a godsend because I knew a lot of the crew working on (the show) and I had to always be quiet and not give the game away." The singer started his career as a soprano when he was a boy crooning Walking In The Air.
