Martin Lewis explains what furlough scheme extension means for all workers

The UK Government’s furlough scheme, currently supporting 7.5 million jobs, will be extended until the end of October, although employers will be expected to pick up a share of the bill from August as the economy hopefully reopens.

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme pays 80 per cent of a worker's salary, up to a £2,500 monthly cap and will remain unchanged until the end of July - a one-month extension.
