NHS doctor has been sacked after he ordered a female junior doctor to take off her clothes as punishment for incorrect answers as they practised a presentation, the employment tribunal heard.Dr Edwin Chandraharan demanded the trainee, referred to as 'WX', join him in his hotel room to practice a presentation while training in Dorset. The consultant gynaecologist asked her to remove her clothes after she made a mistake as she "needed to be scarred" so that she would "avoid future mistakes”.WX revealed to the hearing in Corydon last month that it felt like "mental control" and later revealed her senior had encouraged her to let him give her a “special massage”.Chandraharan claimed that the massage could help her “achieve an orgasm by him only touching her back”.An employment tribunal heard Chandraharan also sexually harassed a second junior doctor while away for a conference by encouraging them to share a hotel room and repeatedly trying to massage her.Named as 'YZ', she had also been sexually harassed at another conference.YZ came forward and reported that he made 'sexualised comments' at her, repeatedly encouraged them to share a hotel room, and made creepy advances. While working in his hotel room, he began massaging her neck but she moved away. This happened two or three times before YZ slapped Chandraharan. Both victims, along with other women at the Trust, formed a WhatsApp group and brought formal allegations against the doctor.Chandraharan was sacked from St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in South London in February 2020.He had worked on the labour ward for 15 years before he was fired.Chandraharan tried to sue the Trust this year, claiming he was unfairly dismissed and racially discriminated.
