Idrissa Akuna Elba OBE (born 6 September 1972) is an English actor, writer, producer, rapper, singer, songwriter and DJ. He is known for roles including Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire, DCI John Luther in the BBC One series Luther, and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013). He has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, winning one, and was nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Marianne Faithfull treated for coronavirus in hospital

standard.co.ukSinger and songwriter Marianne Faithfull has tested positive for coronavirus. Her agent Francois Ravard said the 73-year-old is in a stable condition and is “responding to treatment”.
The talented lyricist is being treated in a London hospital. Mr Ravard said: “She is stable and responding to treatment, we all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery." Faithfull’s hits include As Tears Go By, which was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
In addition to her music career, Faithfull has also acted in films including Girl On A Motorcycle, as well as in theatre productions.
A number of other celebrities including Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, Linda Lusardi and Dynamo have previously revealed they had tested positive for Covid-19.
