Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969 or 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register.

She rose to fame in 1990 after signing to Columbia Records and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. Soon after, Carey became the only artist ever to have their first five singles reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".

Mariah Carey paused her Easter holiday celebrations to pay tribute to healthcare workers in New York. New York broke into applause over the weekend for those on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer joined in with the poignant moment from the rooftop of her home where she had been celebrating Easter with her family.

In a clip shared to her Instagram page, Mariah, wearing Easter bunny ears, gave a round of applause against a backdrop of the New York city skyline.

The 50-year-old added in a caption: ‘7pm in NYC on Easter. Clappng for our heroes. Thank You.’ The star also posted a cute family photo posing with her twins Monroea nd Moroccan, both eight, on the rooftop terrace.
