Margarita Pracatan, singer and star of the Clive James Show, has died at the age of 89 it has been confirmed.The singer, who rose to fame in the 90s, died yesterday in New York.
Pracatan showed a love for music at a young age, singing from the age of three. Launching her career in music, she worked in a men's underwear store by day and sang in clubs by night.
Her Manhattan public-access television cable TV program was discovered by Clive James in 1994, resulting in an invitation to his TV show.
In the years that followed, she toured with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival, performing in the UK and down under.
