Manhunt launched for wanted prisoner who gave guards the slip in hospital

mirror.co.ukA prisoner who was due to appear in court today gave guards the slip after claiming he felt ill. The 21-year-old man, who has been charged with a series of offences, was reportedly taken to Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester Evening News reported.
He managed to dodge out of the guards' grip and fled the hospital. His escape led Greater Manchester Police to scramble a helicopter and send officers out to find him.
As of this afternoon they were scouring Reddish Vale Country Park near Stockport in a bid to find him. He had been due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.
