Manchester United's Jesse Lingard has admitted he was at his 'lowest' before his West Ham loan move last season. Lingard had established himself as an important member of United's first team over the last few years, but after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's appointment, the playmaker was gradually handed limited minutes until he was almost completely frozen out.
The 28-year old had gone from excelling at the 2018 World Cup with England to failing to make a single Premier League appearance last season.
But that would change when David Moyes swooped in January to bring Lingard to West Ham on loan. Lingard then scored nine goals and made three assists across his first nine games at the club - his impact was sensational.
