Manchester United have donated more than 4,000 food items to local food banks following the postponement of their Premier League home match against Brighton.
United's pre-Christmas fixture at Old Trafford was called off on Thursday due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the first-team squad.
The club has ensured food and other items of value which would have gone to waste are given to charity. Fresh sandwiches, fruit and vegetables are to be given to local food banks.
Flowers from hospitality suites will be donated to St Ann's Hospice and hospitality gifts will be donated to local charities.
