Manchester United have been dealt a blow ahead of this month’s Champions League group tie against Villarreal with the news that Unai Emery is staying at with the Spanish outfit.
The former Arsenal manager pipped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the Europa League last season, with the LaLiga side winning on penalties in the final.
Though United beat the Yellow Submarines when the two sides met in the Champions League in September, it took a last-minute Cristiano Ronaldo goal to secure a 2-1 win for the Red Devils.
Despite the game being played at Old Trafford, United went a goal behind and were second-best for much of the game. It was the eighth time Emery had faced United, winning two, drawing three and losing three.
