Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United are in need of a centre-forward. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has run with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford this season, but both look more comfortable in wider areas.
United were close to signing Erling Haaland in January before he joined Borussia Dortmund, and eventually took Odion Ighalo on a short-term loan to see out the remainder of the season.
But the Nigerian is not the long-term solution. United need a focal point for Rashford and Martial to play off to fully unlock their attacking unit.
They just need to find one. United have been linked with a range of names, including Wolves’ Raul Jimenez. However, a young centre-forward scoring at a frightening rate in the Eredivisie is worthy of consideration.
