Manchester Airport reports ‘busiest December on record’ with over 2m passengers

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA record-breaking number of passengers flew into or out of Manchester Airport in December as it experienced its busiest Christmas period ever.
Last month, 2.2million travellers passed through the northern travel hub, 10 per cent more than the previous record set in December 2023.
The busiest day was Sunday, December 29, when just under 89,000 people passed through the airport, most likely jetting off for New Year celebrations or returning from Christmases abroad.
The most popular destination in December was Amsterdam, with more than 110,000 passengers flying to or from the Dutch capital.
