Thanks to a deadline-day scramble, Manchester United have finally addressed long-time depth issues in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri all joined Donny van de Beek as new recruits at Old Trafford, while the club also agreed a deal to sign exciting Atalanta winger Amad Diallo in January.
However, much of the conversation around United’s transfer business centred on the club’s failure to land top target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
That, combined with an alarming 6-1 defeat at home by Tottenham Hotspur, has deepened the sense of malaise around the Theatre of Dreams.
