Manchester United want to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan deal beyond the end of this month. The Red Devils made a deadline day move for the former Watford striker in January to help provide them with options up front in the second half of the campaign.
The loan deal United struck with Shanghai Shenhua runs until the end of May with the football season expected to have finished by then.
However, with the season currently on hold and any plans for the campaign to resume now involving matches being played in June, it’s unclear what will happen to loanees.
But according to the BBC’s Simon Peach, United will be asking Shanghai Shenua for an extension to finish the season. “#MUFC would like to extend Odion Ighalo’s stay at Old Trafford,” he tweeted.
