Manchester United plan to capitalise on James Rodriguez’s expiring Real Madrid contract after identifying the midfielder as a top transfer target this summer.
Rodriguez, 28, has been linked with a move to United on a number of occasions in the past, with Los Blancos reportedly offering him as bait in a proposed swap deal for Paul Pogba last year.
The Colombian, who completed a £63million switch to Madrid back in 2014, has only made seven appearances this season after falling down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.And with just over a year to run on his current deal, an extension appears to be off the cards for Rodriguez.
