Rio Ferdinand has revealed he wanted to join Arsenal after leaving Manchester United in 2014 - only for Arsene Wenger to turn him down.Ferdinand spent 12 years at Old Trafford before waving goodbye to United at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, departing with six Premier League titles, two League Cups and one Champions League under his belt.The former England captain's playing career only lasted another season, spending an unsuccessful year with Championship club Queens Park Rangers before retiring in 2015.However, things may have turned out differently had he secured his preferred move to Arsenal upon leaving the Red Devils.Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand lifted the lid on his meeting with ex-Gunners boss Wenger amid his desire.
