Manchester United held talks with former defender Nemanja Vidic as they looked for a director of football. The Red Devils had been hunting for someone to take the job for several months, with the Serb’s former defensive partner Rio Ferdinand touted.
But chief Ed Woodward has not been keen on recruiting for the position. And The Athletic have reported that Vidic was among a group of former players who had an interest in the role.
