Manchester United's squad reportedly want Ruud van Nistelrooy to stay at the club despite Ruben Amorim's impending arrival as manager.
Van Nistelrooy arrived at Old Trafford in the summer on the recommendation of previous manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman became the Reds' assistant manager following the departures of Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren at the beginning of the campaign.
It was deemed by some that Van Nistelrooy was being groomed to replace Ten Hag as manager should he be sacked but this theory proved to be untrue.
