Ruud van Nistelrooy could potentially help Manchester United identify the 'next Viktor Gyokeres' should he become the new Coventry City manager.

The Dutchman returned to the club in July to assist Erik ten Haag before his sacking in at the start of November. Van Nistelrooy emotionally left Old Trafford himself on Monday, bringing his stint as interim manager to an end with a 3-0 home win against Leicester City.

He took charge of four games during the short time between ten Haag's departure and Ruben Amorim's appointment. Two wins against Leicester, a victory over PAOK and a draw with Chelsea has provided a good platform for the Portuguese head coach to build-on after the end of the international break.
