Man injured by axeman on bike in 'unprovoked' attack after sunset

A man is in hospital after being injured in an unprovoked axe attack in Nottingham on Friday evening. The victim suffered cuts to to his head and body during the violent assault in the Arnold suburb of the city at roughly 8.50pm.

He told police he noticed three men riding bicycles before one of the them hit him in the head, shoulder and back with the axe.

He was rushed to Queen's Medical Centre for treatment, Nottinghamshire Live reports. It isn't thought his injuries are life altering.

Detective Sergeant David Prest is leading the investigation. He said: "This must have been an incredibly scary and traumatic experience and we are keen to get to the bottom of this incident as quickly as possible. "We were quickly on the scene and had
