Detectives launched an investigation after being called to a shooting on Roseberry Street at around 8.20pm last night (Monday).
A 20-year-old man turned up at hospital with gunshot wounds. He underwent surgery and is now in a stable condition, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said this morning.
A large police cordon was in place on Rosebury Street at the junctions with Greame Street and Alison Street last night. Armed police and a crime scene investigation unit were also at the scene.
