Manchester City youngster Dire Mebude is expected to complete a permanent move to Westerlo. Mebude, who moved to City's academy three years ago from Rangers and was a key part of the Under-21 side that won their league for the third year in a row, is close to signing for the Belgian club in a deal worth up to £1.65m as he looks to kickstart his career in senior football.
The Blues will insert a buyback clause and a 30 per cent sell-on into any deal for the 19-year-old. City's total for money made on homegrown talent this summer nudges further up following the sales of James Trafford to Burnley for up to £19m and Shea Charles to Southampton for up to £15m.
That will be pushed up again if Mebude's partner in crime from last season Carlos Borges completes a £14m move to Premier League side West Ham.
Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis could also move on after being left out of Pep Guardiola's squad to tour Japan and South Korea this summer.
