Brendan Rodgers is eyeing Manchester City talent Tommy Doyle as Carl Starfelt edges towards the exit door. The Irishman is poised to lose the Swedish defender after benching him for the Premiership victory over Ross County on Saturday, and La Liga side Celta Vigo are rumoured to be his destination.
Rodgers has said they will go back into the market for defensive reinforcement but a midfielder is the latest to be linked, as the Sun claim he is 'is in the queue' for Doyle, who spent last season out on loan at Sheffield United.
Premier League side Wolves are also keen but Celtic are 'waiting for the moment to pounce' with Rodgers a fan of Doyle. While there is Premier League interest in the 21-year-old, not being a regular starter could pave a road to Glasgow.
The City Group have a strong history of trading with the Premiership champions and just this summer, the Hoops brought Marco Tilio in from Melbourne City.
