The talismanic midfielder appeared to land awkwardly on his ankle when taking on N'Golo Kante just one minute into the second half.
Whilst De Bruyne tried to continue after initially picking up the injury, he lasted just 30 seconds before going to the floor and receiving treatment.
De Bruyne was substituted, limping off the pitch before heading down the players' tunnel at Wembley Stadium to receive further treatment on his injury.
