After much criticism from fans, public figures, and even Pep Guardiola to an extent, City finally confirmed they would be backing out of the controversial Super League proposals on Tuesday night.
A club statement read: "Manchester City Football Club can confirm that it has formally enacted the procedures to withdraw from the group developing plans for a European Super League." Earlier, Pep Guardiola said sport was not sport if success was guaranteed.
