As a youngster at Shakhtar Donetsk, Zinchenko was forced into a seven-month break from football when war broke out in the region before eventually securing a move to Russian side Ufa.
From there he was signed by City as an attacking midfielder for just £1.8million and was immediately loaned to PSV Eindhoven, a move that didn't make it seem that the Blues had signed a player who would go on to become so important for them.
But then as City suffered a crisis at left-back, due to injuries to Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph, it was the Ukrainian who filled the gap to an admirable standard.
