Manchester City have released a statement after their fans' disrespectful actions during a minute's silence for the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.City's FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Saturday came one day after the 33rd anniversary of the tragedy, with a minute's silence planned for ahead of the match.
However, referee Michael Oliver was forced to cut the tribute short after a small section of City supporters disrupted the silence by singing.This was met with boos from the Liverpool fans and City have now condemned the actions of a section of their supporters with a statement from a club spokesperson.The City spokesperson said: "Manchester City are extremely disappointed with the actions of some City supporters during the minute’s silence before today’s game.
