heatwave scorches the UK. Forecasters say temperatures will hit 26C, with humidity and wind conditions making things feel even warmer.
The previous hottest day of the year so far was April 15, when a balmy 23.4C was recorded in St James's Park, London. However, Netweather say that the mercury will smash that record on both Sunday (May 15) and Tuesday (May 17).In their seven day outlook, Netweather predict that Brits will experience a 23C heat this afternoon (May 14) at around 4pm.
On Sunday the mercury will hit 24C at around 1pm, setting a new record. Monday (May 16) will still be warm with highs of 23C predicted before Tuesday brings a sweltering heat of 26C from 4pm to 7pm.
Moreover, Netweather say that humidity and wind conditions could make things feel more like 28C on Tuesday. Other weather forecasters agree that things should start to get really warm in the coming days.
