The summer transfer window saw Manchester City smash the British transfer record to secure the £100million signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
The signing of the attacking midfielder sent out a huge statement of intent to the Premier League that City meant business once again.
However, their failure to land a striker to replace Sergio Aguero came under deep scrutiny. Grealish was City's only big-name signing of the summer, whilst Scott Carson, who had been on loan at the Etihad Stadium since 2019, and Brazilian youngster Kayky also checked in.
Whilst new arrivals were thin on the ground, players left the club by the bucket load, especially on loan. More than 30 departed on temporary deals from the first team and the academy.
