Man charged with attempted rape of teenage girl in woods

A man has been charged with the attempted rape of a teenage girl in woodland in Tameside. Police were called to a report that she had been assaulted on Sunny Bank Vale in Droylsden, near to Greenside Lane.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said Kevin Lee Martin, 38, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of attempted rape.

He's due to appear at Manchester magistrates court tomorrow, Monday, the force added.
