herePolice were called to Portland Place, Stalybridge, on Sunday (June 21) to reports a man had received a stab wound to the back and that the suspect had fled the scene.The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.A post on the GMP Tameside North and East Facebook page said: "On Monday afternoon, following enquiries and searches of a number of addresses by the Tameside District Tasking Team, a 38-year-old male was located and arrested on Caroline Street, Stalybridge, on suspicion of a section 18 assault (causing GBH with intent)."Detectives from Tameside CID investigating the stabbing, interviewed the suspect and during the early hours of Tuesday 23rd June, charged the male.".
