Love Island’s Amy Hart has told fans she received a positive HPV result following a recent smear test.Amy said she will need to have another test later on in the year, as contracting HPV can in some cases increase the risk of women developing cervical cancer. If HPV isn’t found in a sample, according to medical professionals, there is a lower risk of developing abnormal cells, and further tests are not needed. But if abnormal cells are found or alternatively if there is a positive HPV result further tests will be needed including a colposcopy to check the cervix.Amy, 29, told her followers via an Instagram question and answer with fans.In a video, Amy said: “I did my research and found that 80 per cent of men and women in their lifetimes will get HPV.

It’s a virus and it is quite normal apparently.“I had a smear last year, it came back with HPV, they said to come back in a year so I went back today.“She said the results will be in two weeks.

If HPV is there they’ll look at my cells and do a biopsy on the cells so that’s where I am at the moment.”Amy took a selfie before she opened up about what it was like getting tested.

She wrote: “Had my standard 3-year smear last April and it came back with HPV. So here today to check if it's gone away or progressed to pre-cancerous cells.“My smears are always a bit uncomfy coz I have a very very high, tilted cervix along with early menopause and cankles…”Amy opened up about suffering from early menopause and needing to get her eggs frozen, costing £10,000.
