The parent company of Louis Vuitton - LVMH - will use its perfume production facilities to start making hand sanitiser to help protect people amid the spread of coronavirus.
The luxury goods brand has said the initiative is to help address the shortage of the product in France and has made it a priority as of Monday.
In a statement on Sunday, the company announced: "The gel will be delivered free of charge to the French health authorities." "LVMH will use all the production facilities of its Perfumes & Cosmetics brands...
to produce large quantities of hydroalcholic gel," it continued. The production lines would normally make perfume and make-up for Christian Dior and Givenchy, but this commitment will continue "for as long as necessary".
