Hollyoaks actor and telly presenter, opened up on Lorraine on Thursday (September 8) about his mental health and suicidal thoughts.
The 34-year-old suffers from borderline personality disorder and addiction issues. He has a new book out and wanted to discuss how his illness affects him and his family and how he thinks everyone “hates him”. Lorraine admitted his new book is “brutal”, with Joe adding his job is to make sure “he doesn’t die now”. He said his suicidal thoughts “always pass, hopefully”, and “every time I've thought about killing myself, it’s always stopped” though sometimes it’s gone on for as long as three weeks.
Joe added: “Since the world has changed, it’s much harder to find reasons to stay alive every day."He was admirably honest about having mental health problems and said that he has another side to him called “Mick” who brings in dark thoughts.
