Liverpool’s fringe players could benefit from more first-team experience when the Premier League season resumes in a couple of weeks.
Teams will be able to make five substitutions, rather than three, in each match to the end of the season after clubs approved new rules.
Each top flight team will also be able to name nine substitutes instead of the usual seven. The season will commence on June 17 after a three-month hiatus with the Reds only a couple of wins away from clinching a first league title in 30 years.
Jurgen Klopp has so far relied on his tried and tested starting eleven in the main, with a couple changes in his midfield. But some of his fringe players could be given their chance to shine between now and the end of the season,
