Liverpool have reportedly refused to hand refunds to 290 Atletico Madrid fans who opted not to travel to Merseyside for the Champions League last 16 second leg match due to fears about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Atletico ultimately emerged victorious in the knockout tie to advance to the quarter final stage of the competition but there was talk that the game should have been postponed altogether.
Spain was already battling COVID-19 but neither UEFA or the UK government decided that the game should be called off or held behind closed doors.
Thousands of away fans made the trip from Madrid but around 290 opted against travelling at the last minute because of concerns over the deadly virus.
