Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson claims Manchester United and Manchester City were weighing up a transfer for him in 2011.
But the 29-year-old insists it was a "pretty simple" decision to join the Reds and work under manager Kenny Dalglish. Henderson won the League Cup during his first season with Liverpool and has since captained the club to Champions League glory last season and the brink of a first league title in 30 years this campaign.
However, things could have panned out far differently for the England midfielder if the Reds had not tabled a £20million bid nine years ago - as Sir Alex Ferguson was among those who were monitoring him at the time.
