Live cats and dogs displayed as 'prizes' in bizarre vending machine

The incident was filmed in a commercial centre in the Chinese city of Shanghai, and the footage has been viewed 3.2 million times on the Chinese social network Weibo.In the clip, live animals are seen at one end of a large machine that apparently also distributes food and light snacks.Disturbingly, cats and dogs are kept in cramped metal and glass enclosures as a sign cheerily tells customers they can "win a pet" by playing games on the machine.First placed winners got a dog or cat and the second-placed prize was a chinchilla – a type of rodent with soft grey fur and large ears.Two grey kittens are seen copped up in one glass display case and above them.
