The Scots actress, who plays DSI Jo Davidson on the show, came under intense cross examination from AC-12, in what was billed as the longest interview ever seen on the BBC cop drama.
Davidson faced a string of difficult questions tabled by Superintendent Ted Hastings, the formidable DCS Carmichael and DI Steve Arnott - played by Greenock’s own Martin Compston - in a 29-minute-long grilling about her links to organised crime.
Macdonald’s character didn’t give much away during the interview, which saw her utter the words “no comment” on multiple occasions.
