Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Liam Shaw has been warned about his chances under the next Parkhead boss by Tony Pulis. The young midfielder will arrive in the summer after agreeing a freedom of contract move to the Scottish Premiership.The 20-year-old was handed a run in the Sheffield Wednesday team by Pulis but has been used sparingly at Sheffield Wednesday since the pre-contract move was announced.

Shaw will be among those eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next Celtic boss, but Pulis told The Athletic that opportunities could be limited under Neil Lennon's successor.

The veteran gaffer said: “The big thing with him, more than anything, is obviously experience and games."I personally think that for what they’re paying it’s a great signing for the football.
