The British superstar, who romped home to a record seventh F1 world title last season, has still not signed an extension with the Daimler team four weeks after his previous deal expired.Toto Wolff had previously expressed his desire for Hamilton to agree fresh terms before the end of last season, a deadline the Mercedes boss failed to meet.
Reports suggest the two parties are clashing over Hamilton’s salary. The 36-year-old is believed to be demanding a three-year contract worth £120million, yet Mercedes are looking to cut costs amid the coronavirus.
