Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Kyle MacLachlan joins cast of ‘Joe Exotic’ drama series

Kyle MacLachlan has become the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Joe Exotic limited series.MacLachlan will play Carole Baskin‘s spouse Harold Baskin.

Baskin’s husband stood by her side throughout her ongoing feud with Exotic, her business rival. Her first husband Don Lewis disappeared in 1997, with the criminal case still open today with no arrests or charges made.Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon will play Carole Baskin in the series, while John Cameron Mitchell will star as fellow big cat enthusiast Exotic.

Dennis Quaid has been tapped up to play Exotic’s reality show producer Rick Kirkham.The Joe Exotic series will be based upon the Wondery podcast of the same name.
