Kilmarnock police officer is aiming to run 96 miles and climb Britain’s highest mountain in 48 hours this weekend. PC Jason McGinn, 37, has set himself the gruelling challenge after only recently taking up running during lockdown.

The Ayrshire officer will be running the picturesque West Highland Way before scrambling up Ben Nevis in a bid to raise funds for two charities. “In May this year I decided to start a podcast about mental health awareness,” Jason told the Kilmarnock Standard.
