mirror.co.ukKate Garraway's husband Derek Draper faces a "slow and uncertain path" to recovery after coming out of a coma. The Mirror told yesterday how GMB presenter Kate, 53, had some promising news about her husband and a breakthrough in his condition.
He has been in intensive care in hospital since the end of March and was put into an induced coma by doctors on April 5. A statement read out from Kate's representatives also played down how much Derek had improved saying some headlines gave “some level of optimism that might not yet be justified”.
They added: “We hope, as does Kate, that there will be more evidence of a recovery. “But it will be a very slow and uncertain path.” Derek was described as now being in a “minimum state of consciousness”
