Emmerdale bosses have revealed that its "best loved villagers" will be in danger when a storm rips through the village during the 50th anniversary month.The ITV soap, which began in 1972, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a whole month of stories this October, which bosses said will "make you laugh, make you cry, make you surprised and stunts that are going to rock your world."Speaking exclusively to Daily Star and other press, Producer Kate Brooks revealed that the anniversary week will focus on a "massive storm", which will "rip through the village and absolutely leave a massive trail of destruction in its wake."READ NEXT: Emmerdale backstage secrets - Plastic food, real graves, tributes and spelling errorsShe also hinted that fan favourites will be in danger, adding: "Some of our best loved villagers will be in peril and it is safe to safe that the village won't be the same after this - and it won't be the same again, because the impact this storm has on people's lives is just massive."Although storms have featured in Emmerdale before, resulting in the death of characters including Tricia Dingle, soap bosses said the 50th anniversary stunt has elements no one has "seen on a soap drama before."Executive Producer Jane Hudson also added that one big storm will focus on Nate, Sam and Belle, saying: "One element in particular, trust me, nobody has done and no other soap could do it, apart from Emmerdale because of where we are."She added: "One of the things we were very keen to do was to make sure our storm was in the daytime, so the whole storm takes place in one day, across about three or four episodes. "It's all in daytime.

Taylor Swift has addressed a 2017 copyright lawsuit that claimed she stole the lyrics of her 2014 song ‘Shake It Off’.Writing in a federal court document filed yesterday (August 8), the popstar denied any copyright infringement, and claimed she’d “never heard” the song she is accused of plagiarising – 2001’s ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ by the American pop trio 3LW.In excerpts of the motion obtained by Billboard, Swift unequivocally rejected the accusation, writing that “the lyrics to ‘Shake It Off’ were written entirely by me”, before providing context around how they came to be included in the song.“In writing the lyrics, I drew partly on experiences in my life and, in particular, unrelenting public scrutiny of my personal life, ‘clickbait’ reporting, public manipulation, and other forms of negative personal criticism which I learned I just needed to shake off and focus on my music,” Swift wrote.Elsewhere in the motion, Swift spoke directly to the lyric in question, arguing that “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” were widespread aphorisms used throughout her childhood, “akin to … sayings like ‘don’t hate the playa, hate the game,’” and “‘take a chill pill’”.“I recall hearing phrases about players play and haters hate stated together by other children while attending school in Wyomissing Hills, and in high school in Hendersonville,” Swift said.Swift also cited the numerous uses of the phrase ​​in “many songs, films, and other works,” and referenced a 2013 performance in which she wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the term “haters gonna hate.”The lawsuit — filed by ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler — was dropped in 2018, but was later resurrected by an appeals panel the following year.

People in Scotland will no longer be able to make a new claim for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) from August 29 when the benefit will be replaced by Adult Disability Payment (ADP) in all 32 council areas across the country. At present, 13 local authorities are now offering ADP to adults over 16 and under State Pension age living with a disability, long-term illness or a physical or mental health condition.
