Jurgen Klopp has been warned about signing David Alaba as a "short-term fix" by former Liverpool goalkeeper David James. The Reds have been heavily linked with Bayern Munich defender Alaba as they eye cover for Virgil van Dijk, who is expected to miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Alaba, 28, has been one of Bayern's most consistent performers over the last decade but his contract with the Bavarian giants expires in less than 12 months.
