Jose Mourinho insists he has “no problem” with Tanguy Ndombele - but told him he must get used to sitting on the bench. Ndombele, 23, joined Tottenham for a record £63m a year ago on Thursday but has struggled to settle and his problems have got worse during Mourinho’s six months at the club.
France international Ndombele has yet to complete 90 minutes under Mourinho, has not played a minute since the season restarted and was caught up in controversy when the Spurs boss was pictured with him doing an impromptu training session during lockdown.
It has left serious question marks over whether Ndombele has a future at the club and if he could make a quick return to France with rumours rife that he wants out.
