Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.

John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Johnny Depp has taken to the stand during his defamation case against his former wife, Amber Heard.During the ongoing trial, the actor shared an insight into his drug use including using drugs with his pal, Marilyn Manson.The actor, 58, was being cross-examined today (April 21) as part of his civil defamation claim against Heard in Fairfax, Virginia.Depp, who was on his third day on the stand, is suing Heard for more than £38 million, saying her domestic abuse claims have harmed his career and reputation.The actress, 35, has filed a countersuit against Depp, 58, seeking almost £78 million in damages and saying his legal team falsely accused her of fabricating claims against the actor.Heard’s counterclaim accuses Depp of orchestrating a "smear campaign" against her and describing his lawsuit as a continuation of "abuse and harassment." Depp admitted he'd taken pills and cocaine with rocker Marilyn Manson on numerous occasions during yesterday's evidence."I once gave Marilyn Manson a pill so he would stop talking so much," Depp testified, eliciting laughter from the courtroom.At one point, Depp credited Sir Elton John for helping him beat his addiction demons telling the singer: “I would have been swallowed up by the monster were it not for you.”He added: “Elton is a dear friend, who has been sober for 40 years, 30 years, so we had a discussion and he wanted to get me clean, sober.”The jury of seven was shown a photo taken in Heard's house in Los Angeles in March 2013, the morning after Depp fell off the wagon.The picture showed two glasses of whiskey and four lines of cocaine next to a box with a skull and crossbones and Depp's initials on it."You'd sometimes drink whiskey in the morning?" asked Heard's attorney Ben.
